Gov Okpebholo at the inspection of the abandoned premises of the company located at James Watt Road, Benin City. By Editor June 10, 2025 Fifteen years after the closure of the Edo State owned transport company known as Edo Line,  Governor Monday Okpebholo has scheduled June 27, 2025, for the commencement of full transport activities by the company. Dailymonitorngr reports that the company was shut down by the administration of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole following a protest by members of the Almagalmated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Service Employees, AUPCTRE. The unions had in March 2010, protested against the reappointment of now late Chief Amos Osunbor as the Board Chairman of the Company. It said it was a clear example of chronic neglect facing public schools, total disrepair of classrooms, broken or missing furniture and unsafe environment  for any form of meaningful learning. By Editor May 25, 2025 Mr Sylvester Aigboboh More than six  months into the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo , the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed his Personal Assistant (PA) Mr Sylvester Aigboboh, as the State Deputy chairman of the party   The party also elevated the former Deputy State chairman and now the Acting chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, to the position of State Chairman. It also appointed Mr Pedro Esangbedo as the Vice Chairman for Edo Central Senatorial District. The party disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Benin City. The remanded persons are  Egwuonwu Jonah, Sunday Obasi, Ogonnaya Eze (Boss) and  Godwin Nwoko-Obi. A charge sheet with suit number MAB/181c/2025 and made available to newsmen said the accused and others now at large were charged with 10 count. The charge sheet said the accused and others now at large committed the offences on February 21, 2025 at Mebi-Okpa Okposi Ohaozara, Ebonyi State. It said the suspects  were charged with conspiracy, attempted murder/acts intended to cause grievous harm and armed robbery, trial by ordeal and among others on two widows and a man.
