2023 poll: INEC Clears 100 candidates for 3 senatorial, 9 representatives' seats in Edo

The Independent National Electoral Commission has cleared 100 candidates to contest for the three senatorial and nine House of Representatives seats in Edo state for the 2023 general elections.
DailyMonitorngr reports that the electoral commission on Tuesday released the final list of candidates cleared for the national legislative elections.
The DailyMonitorngr also reports that there are three senatorial seats and nine federal constituencies in the state.
The list contained 30 candidates vying for senatorial seats and 70 for Federal House of Representatives seats across the different parties.
The breakdown of the parties indicated that the All Progressives Congress (APC), the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Action Alliance (AA), Action Democratic Party (ADP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) have candidates for the three senatorial seats.
It also showed that Accord (A) has candidate for Edo central only, Boot Party (BP) only for Edo north and National Rescue Movement (NRM) for Edo South.
For the federal house of representatives, APC, PDP, NNPP and ADC have candidates in all the seats, SDP in Seven seats, LP in eight, ADP in four, AA in seven, AAC one, YPP two and ZLP four seats respectively.
The presidential, national assembly, governorship and state assembly elections are slated for 2023.
