Chinese technology to honour Igbinedion varsity with Best Academy Award for Year 2022

A multinational Chinese technology Corporation, the Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria Limited will on Monday (tomorrow) honour the Igbinedion University, Okada (IOU) with Huawei Academy Prize of the Best Academy for the Year 2022.   

The ceremony billed to hold at 
Fraiser Suite, Abuja on 19th December, 2022 is part of the activities lined up by Huawei Technologies to mark the 2022-2023 Huawei National ICT Competition Award Ceremony.

The recognition for the award was contained in a letter from Huawei Technologies dated 8th December 2022 addressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye.

A  statement signed by the institution's Registrar, Mr Benji Bakare, and made available to newsmen in Benin City also disclosed the Professor Lawrence Ezemonye  will be honoured with an award as the Most Supportive Vice Chancellor for the Year 2022 at the ceremony.

DailyMonitorngr reports that the statement added that, "for this exceptional and uncommon feat, the first private university in Nigeria,  Igbinedion University Okada (IUO) no doubt is blazing the trail in private tertiary education in the country following
the IUO Smart Campus Wide digital transformation.

Six old commissioners make Obaseki's list

Gov. Godwin Obaseki By Editor June 8, 2023 Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has reappointed six of the former commissioners hitherto relieved of their jobs. Dailymonitorngr reports that the governor had last month sacked all the civil commissioners, Special Advisers and all other political appointees in the state except the Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government.
