As part of efforts to improve power supply to its franchise states, the management of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has planned a stakeholders' meeting to address shortage of power being experienced by customers.

The distribution company noted that the stakeholders' meeting was geared towards resolving the epileptic power situation in  its franchise states of Edo,Delta, Ondo and Ekiti.

The plan was contained in a statement signed by Evelyn Gbiwen, the company's Acting Head, Corporate Affairs Department and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Benin City.

Gbiwen said the company is working relentlessly to engage stakeholders in the electricity value chain in a bid to resolve the situation and improve power supply.

While regretting the inconveniences caused customers by the situation, she, however,  appealed for  patience and understanding as the problems are being resolved.

According to her, the Management of BEDC wishes to empathise with its customers over  shortage of power supply currently being experienced in its franchise states.

"We are relentlessly engaging stakeholders in the electricity value chain in a bid to resolve the situation and improve power supply.

"We deeply regret the inconvenience caused by the situation, and appeal for your patience and understanding as we resolve the problem.

"One of our set goals when we took over the management of BEDC a few months ago is to ensure regular power supply to all our operations areas",she said.

She assured that communities that were hitherto disconnected by the past administration to the national grid will be connected, just as she also assured that electricity will be pushed to the rural areas.
