Kidnapping spree as 35 persons abducted in two days in Edo state

Three persons were kidnapped in Edo less than 72 hours after the abduction of 32 Igueben train station passengers at Igueben local government area.
Dailymonitorngr reports that 72 hours after the Igueben train station ill-fated incident, three persons which include a former lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Festus Edughele, a staff of the state Accountant-General office and president of Igueben Area Customary Court, Mrs Precious Aigbonoga were also on Monday kidnapped in the state.
The kidnap of the Area Customary Court, Mrs Precious Aigbonoga came less than 12 hours after the abduction of the former lawmaker and the staff of the state Accountant General office.
A statement by Festus Osagie, Usiobaifo, Publicity Secretary, Benin branch of the Nigerian Bar Association and made available to newsmen in Benin City said the president of the Igueben Area Customary Court was kidnapped in the morning around Ugoneki in Uhunmwonde local government area on her way to court in Igueben local government area.
Festus said the president of the Igueben Area Customary Court is a wife of Mr Afebu Aigbonoga, Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Etsako West Constituency in the forthcoming general elections.
According to the statement, the Chairman of the Lion Bar, Chief Nosa Francis Edo-Osagie is deeply sad by this news and condemns, in strongterms, the worrisome insensitivity of these bandits in kidnapping Mrs Precious Aigbonoga; an easygoing, gentle, and hardworking judicial officer.
"Meanwhile, the Dream Team is in close touch with the Commissioner of Police, C.P. Mohammed Adamu Dankwara. By the grace of God Almighty, His Honour shall be rescued unhurt, and the bandits brought to book, Amen!
"Let us keep His Honour in our prayers, please", he said.
