Professor Julius Ihonvbere, lawmaker representing Owan Federal Constituency has appealed to Owan citizens residence in Delta State to cast their votes for Senator James Omo Agege, the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in Saturday election.

Ihonvbere also wooed votes for all   the party House of Assembly candidates in the state.

The federal lawmaker who recently got his mandate renewed made the call in a statement signed and made available to newsmen  by his Senior Aide on Media and Public Affairs, Joshua Iraoya.

He opined that the need for Owan citizens residence in the state to vote for the incumbent Deputy Senate President for the governorship election was due to
his deep passion and love for the Owan people.

He explained that the deputy senate president presented himself as the instrument used to ensure that the  Federal University of Sports, Afuze was listed before the Senate for necessary concurrence.

He posited that the deputy senator president shown brotherliness to the Owan federal constituency when Senator Francis Alimikhena of Edo North who ought to be at the forefront of ensuring the passage of the bill chose to play hide and seek game to work  tooth and nail against the success of the bill.

"Omo Agege did for Owan by ensuring that the Senate took a look at the Afuze Sports Varsity Bill is most akin to the popular saying that a good and dependable friend is more worthy and miles better than a blood brother.

"A time some persons in the Senate decided to work against the establishment of a federal tertiary institution in their Senatorial District and rather chose to work for the realization of a similar bill in another state and geo-political zone in the country, Senator Ovie Omo Agege stuck out his neck and ensured that the Varsity Bill was presented before the Nigeria's Senate for its perfunctory concurrence.

"Therefore, I challenged every forward looking and positive minded Owan sons and daughters resident in Delta State to replicate the good deed and love extended to the Owan Nation by Senator Omo Agege by voting massively for him to emerge as the new Delta Governor on Saturday.

Ihonvbere, who described  Senator Omo Agege as a man of several positive qualities, was optimistic  that even after emerging as Delta Governor on Saturday the bond of friendship and close affinity that exists between him and the Senator deputy president would continue to be sustained for the continued and sustainable benefits of the Owan Nation and Delta State.

He, however, assured that the Afuze Varsity Bill which was controversially stepped down by the Senate due to some irreconcilable differences occasioned by the sponsorship of a similar bill by a Senator from Ebonyi State will sail through and presented to the President for  accent during the course of the 10th National Assembly expected to be inaugurated in June this year.
