Peculiar situations have a unique way of throwing up peculiar people with unique solutions to knotted issues bedevilling society at every point in human history. And that we are at such a crossroads in Edo state right now, is not in doubt.

Little wonder that Providence makes no mistake in throwing up a unique character in the person of Dr Azemhe Azena, a man with an eye for details as regards the plight of the common man, to the fore to take the good people of Edo state to the promised land.

Here's a man who sometimes, does the impossible. His unique program of renunciation and rehabilitation of hardened criminals by making them publicly submit and hand over arms and ammunition never ceases to amaze many people. This owes largely to the confidence and trusts that Edo youths have in the popular clergyman.

This unique initiative to rid the streets of Edo state of gun-wielding and dangerous youths has endeared Dr Azena to the state authorities in no small measure. Where there's youth restiveness and criminal gangs, there is no peace; the reason the youthful clergyman and philanthropist is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that we all sleep with our two eyes closed in Edo state.

Dr Azemhe Azena has the milk of human kindness running ceaselessly in his veins. His magnanimity knows no bounds. This is why the names on the list of his beneficiaries keep increasing by the day: from giving scholarships to many indigent students to taking care of numerous widows and paying hospital bills for many poor couples in Edo state.

For someone whose mindset is encased in such humanitarian endeavour and development ideas, taking over the mantle of leadership at the state level will only be a fait accompli when everyone give him the necessary support, to expanding his vision for his people more dynamically. The esteemed Dr Azemhe Azena is truly an idea whose time has come.
