The  Edo State chapter of the Labour Party has raised the alarm over the alleged plan by some persons in the state to invade the party's secretariat with a view to forcefully eject the executive from office.

The state chairman of the party, Mr Kelly Ogbaloi, made the allegation at a press conference on Thursday in Benin City.

Ogbaloi also alleged that some persons masquerading around the state are planning to overrun the secretariat and hack down some members of the Executive council.

He, however, called on the law enforcement agencies to immediately take notices and act as the cases are very ominous.

He further urged the security agencies to immediately complete investigations on petitions of threat to life and impersonation of leadership of the party in the state.

The Labour Party chairman added that those found culpable after the investigations should be made to face the full wrath of the law.

According to him, Exco reviewed numerous petitions on several cases of threat to life, impersonations of the leadership of Labour Party.

"And asked the law enforcement agencies to immediately complete investigations on them and bring those found culpable in their investigation to face the law.

"This is more so, when it came to the understanding of Labour Party leadership that some persons are masquerading around Edo State metropolis, having planned from reasonable sources of information.

"That within the immediate periods  they would invade the Labour Party State office, overrun it, hacked down some members of the Exco and forcefully ejects us with a view to taking over the state office.

"This is sufficiently frightening and we then ask again as usual, that the law enforcement agencies, should take notices and act as the case is very ominous",he said.

He announced the state leadership's reaffirmation and vote of confidence on the national leadership of the party led by Comrade Julius Abure.

He, however, dissociated  the state chapter from the purported National Executive Council (NEC) held in Bauchi by members loyal to Apapa Lamidi.

Ogbaloi noted that all decisions reached at the Bauchi NEC meeting were illegal, nullity and of no effect and should be disregarded.
