Journalist's daughter bags Neurological Physiotherapy Specialist award

Miss Ehiaghe Iziegbe Ikhili has received the departmental award for best graduating student in Neurological Physiotherapy Specialist of the University of Benin.
Iziegbe is the daughter of Mr Monday Ebalu Ikhili, a journalist with Aljazirah Nigeria media, a national daily based in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Iziegbe was conferred with the award on Wednesday at the 2nd oath taking/induction ceremony for the 2020/2021 graduands of the university.
She was also presented with the second best award in an examination conducted by the department for the graduands.
Dailymonitorngr reports that she graduated from the department of physiotherapy, School of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medical Sciences, University of Benin (UNIBEN).
The elated Iziegbe, whose joy knew no bound, commended her parents for their investment in her education as well as her lecturers for impacting knowledge on the graduands.
Also speaking, the father of the graduand, Mr Monday Ebalu Ikhili, thanked her for justifying the investment in her education.
He urged her not to only be a good ambassador of the family but also to her alma mater.
Those present at the event are Mike Otunba Aladenikan, former chairman, Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Festus Alenkhe, the incumbent chairman of the council, Comrade Andy Egbon, Secretary of the Union.
Others are Isaac Olamikan, Simeon Osajie, Lucky Isibor, Ehis Ehikhioya, Idris Umar Momoh, family members and well wishers.
In his welcome address, Prof Kayode Oke, Head of Department of Physiotherapy, urged the vice chancellor of the university, Prof Lillian Salami to consider appointing excellent students among the graduands to join the academic strength of the department.
Oke said the department requires more hands and personnel.
