Obaseki sacks over 200 aides less than two years after appointment

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has sacked civil commissioners and over 200 aides from the state executive council. 

Dailymonitorngr reports that the sacking of the aides takes immediate effect. 

A statement by Crusoe Osagie Special Adviser, Media Projects to the State Governor said the sacking affected all Special Assistants (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs). 

Crusoe said the dissolution of the executive council and aides was taken during the weekly executive council meeting on Wednesday. 

Dailymonitorngr also reports that the aides were appointed in 2021. 

The governor, however, expressed appreciation to members of the council for their service to the government and people of the State.
