Police rescues two kidnapped victims, 10 still missing

Edo State Police command on Thursday said two out of the 12 persons kidnapped by gunmen in Owan East local government area have been rescued.

Dailymonitorngr reports that within the rescued of the two, 10 persons are still in the abductors den.

The 12 persons were kidnapped on Tuesday along Afuze-Ihievbe-Auchi road between 6 pm and 7 pm.

DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor, the Public Relations Officer of the command who confirmed the rescued of the two persons, however, said the command cannot ascertained the number of persons kidnapped  because there was nobody to give account of the numbers.

Nwabuzor noted that operatives of the command are still combing the bush to rescue other kidnapped victims and arrest the perpetrators.

He said the rescued victims are receiving treatment at the hospital.

DailyMonitorngr reports that 12 persons including a nine-year old child abandoned by the mother was among those kidnapped by the gunmen.
