LG Poll: Focus on people-orientated programmes, projects - Edo Deputy Speaker tells elected chairmen

Hon (Mrs) Maria Omozele- Edeko, Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly has urged the newly elected chairmen in the 18 Local Government Councils in the state to focus more people orientated programmes and projects.

DailyMonitorngr reports that Edeko who is representing Esan North- East constituency II in the State House of Assembly, also urged the chairmen to ensure that their programmes and projects are such that would deliver the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.

The Deputy Speaker, who congratulated the chairman of Esan North-East local government council, Dr Kelly Inedegbor and all the elected councillors for winning the last Saturday's local government election noted that their victory at the poll are well-deserved.

She also congratulated  the chairman of Esan West, Collins Aigbogun, the Vice Chairpersons of Ovia North- East,  Efosa Uyigue and Esan South-East Susan Otekpen on their victory at the local government elections.

She enjoined the elected political officers complement the efforts of the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki to Make Edo Great Again (MEGA).

According to her, your collaborative efforts is needed to deliver massive infrastructural development and policies of governor Godwin Obaseki's administration to the rural areas for better life for the people.

The Deputy Speaker, noted that the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party at the elections was a testimony that the party presented very competent candidates and carried out  campaigns in all the local governments, wards, units and door to door.

She opined that the campaigns across the 18 local governments and the 192 wards across the state paved way for the party's victory.
