The Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mrs Maria Edeko has described the Ojuromi of Uromi Kingdom,His Royal Majesty, Anslem Edenojie II, as a true Royalty, a distinguished Royal father and worthy ambassador of Esan land and the State.

Dailymonitorngr reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker made the remarks in her congratulatory message to mark the birthday anniversary of the royal father.

Edeko, representing   Esan North East constituency II at the house commended the traditional ruler for having the welfare of his subjects, Esan people and  Edo people in general at heart.

"On behalf of my family and the people of  Esan North East constituency 11, I felicitate you on the celebration of your birthday.

“I pray Almighty God to continue to endow you with wisdom, good health and strength to continue to serve your people. Long May You Reign,"she said.

She lauded the traditional ruler for his commitment to the peace, stability, and development of Esan land and the state as a whole since ascension to  the throne.

Six old commissioners make Obaseki's list

Gov. Godwin Obaseki By Editor June 8, 2023 Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has reappointed six of the former commissioners hitherto relieved of their jobs. Dailymonitorngr reports that the governor had last month sacked all the civil commissioners, Special Advisers and all other political appointees in the state except the Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government. The former commissioners reappointed are Ethan Osaze Uzamere, former commissioner of Oil and Gas,  Christopher Osaretin Nehikhare, Information and Communication, Monday Osaigbovo, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.  Others are  Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe, Commissioner for Education, Isoken Omo, for Physical Planning, Housing, Urban and Regional Development and Stephen Ehikhioya Idehenre, for Agriculture and Food Security.
