CBN governor Cardoso, Others ForNigerian Economic Society 2024 Public Lecture

Dr Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank (CBN) will on February 22, 2024 join other personalities and discussants at the Nigerian Economic Society, 2024 Public Lecture.

Dailymonitorngr reports that the public lecture with its theme, "Recent  Developments in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market: Issues, options and the way forward" will be charting a path for the country's financial sector.

President, Nigerian Economic Society, Prof. Adeola Adenikinju disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend.

He said the event would hold at the Central Bank of Nigeria  Centre of Excellence lecture threatre, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences, University of Ibadan at 12pm.

The statement added that other  personalities expected  at the Public Lecture include Vice Chancellor,  University of Ibadan, Prof. K.O. Adebowale,  Prof Sam olofin, Professor of Economics, Mr Bismarck  Rewane, Dr. Tope Fasua and Prof. Antonia Taiye Simbine, Director-General, Nigerian Institute Of Social And Economic Research (NISER) who is the event chairperson.

The statement added that the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Olayemi Cardoso will be the 
Chief host.

The Society's National Secretary,  Dr. Frank Ogbeide, however, invited members of the public to join the public lecture Via the Society's YouTube and LinkedIn social media handles to contribute to the discourse in chatting a winning path for the nation's FX market,  as well as give direction to ensuring stability of the Naira against major currencies.

Six old commissioners make Obaseki's list

Gov. Godwin Obaseki By Editor June 8, 2023 Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has reappointed six of the former commissioners hitherto relieved of their jobs. Dailymonitorngr reports that the governor had last month sacked all the civil commissioners, Special Advisers and all other political appointees in the state except the Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government.
