Members of the All Progressives Congress , APC, and supporters of Dr Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe were in high spirits as the frontline governorship aspirant submitted his nomination forms on Tuesday at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja.

Dailymonitorngr reports that hundreds of Umakhihe's supporters, including his wife, Mrs. Florence Umakhihe, who witnessed the submission of the nomination forms, appreciated and commended the immediate past Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security for running issue based campaign.

The dignitaries at the party's secretariat which include the Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Chidi Eze Duru encouraged the governorship aspirant to keep on with the issue based campaign.

Mr Duru, however, assured of the party's readiness to provide level playing field for all the aspirants.

Umakhihe submitted his completed nomination form ahead of the party's primary slated for February 17, 2024.

Speaking at the APC media office, Umakhihe told journalists that he was in the race to Dennis Osadebey avenue to provide solution for the challenges facing Edo people, which the present Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government has unable to tackle.

He noted that his 'Fresh Hope' agenda will guarantee shared prosperity, and focused on six key areas of agricultural revolution; accessible and functional healthcare, rural development; youth empowerment and entrepreneurial skills development and Women Empowerment.

He also promised to deploy his training as an expert in security and strategy to solve the insecurity issues ravaging parts of Edo State.
