The Labour Party Candidate for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, has extended warm felicitations to Christian faithful as they celebrate this year's Easter.

Dailymonitorngr reports that Akpata, who highlighted the significance of Easter as a time of reflection, renewal and hope in his message, also emphasized the importance of unity and harmony among all religious groups.

A statement signed and made available to newsmen by the State Publicity Secretary of the Party Comrade Sam Uroupa, noted that the LP governorship candidate acknowledged the values of peace, love, and compassion that Easter symbolizes.

He, however, expressed his commitment to fostering a society where diversity is celebrated and respected. 

According to him, "my Easter message is not only to celebrate the Christian faithful but also underscored my vision for a harmonious and progressive Edo State where all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliations, can thrive and contribute to the development of the state."

Olumide also emphasized the need for mutual understanding and cooperation among people of different faiths, promoting a message of tolerance and acceptance.

While assuring the Christian community of his unwavering support and commitment to upholding their rights and promoting their welfare, he reiterated his dedication to serving the people of Edo State, if elected the governor of the state in the forthcoming governorship election.

He opined that his government would be anchored on the principles of good governance, accountability and inclusiveness.
