The Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has congratulated Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and particularly in the State for witnessing the new month of Ramadan.

Ogbaloi noted that the holy month holds special significance place in the Islamic lunar calendar.

According to him, throughout this month, which is the fasting period in the Islamic calendar , people abstain from worldly pleasures, participate in community service acts and consider the period a time of spiritual reflection.

"The rewards and spiritual blessings in the month of Ramadan cannot be quantified. It equally provides opportunities for Muslims to right the wrongs in their lives.

"May this Ramadan be a time of reflection, self-discipline, and spiritual growth for you. May this Ramadan bring you peace, prosperity, and spiritual fulfilment.

“As the holy month of Ramadan begins, I pray that Allah blesses you with strength, patience, and wisdom. We wish you and your loved ones a blessed Ramadan filled with joy, harmony, and countless blessings", he said.

He, however, encourage well-to-do individuals in the society to use the period to support the less-privileged ones among them to enable them to observe the fasting with ease and have a sense of belonging.

He enjoined Muslims to use the holy month to pray fervently for leaders at all levels to succeed and pray for the State and the country in general to overcome its emerging economic and security challenges.
