Edo poll: CRPP endorses Ighodalo for governor

Ahead of the September 21, 2024 governorship election in Edo State, the State leadership of the Coalition for Registered Political Parties  (CRPP) has endorsed the candidacy of Asue Ighodalo.


DailyMonitorngr reports that the group endorsed Barrister Asue Ighodalo and Barrister Osarodion Ogie's candidacy on Tuesday at a press briefing in Benin City.

Speaking at the endorsement, the State chairman of  CRPP,  Dr  Samson Isibor said the group decided to support the Peoples Democratic  Party (PDP) governorship candidate at an enlarged meeting and after extensive consultations with the grassroots members across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

"The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) at our enlarged recent meeting resolved to support and campaign for Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie joint ticket as governor and deputy governorship candidates respectively of PDP in the September 21, 2024 governorship election.

"The CRPP came to the conclusion after extensive consultations with the grassroots members of our group in the 18 Local Government Areas of the State',he said.

Isibor opined that the group after assessing the antecedents and  pedigree of each contesting candidates, they found that the PDP candidate is more credible to lead Edo people to the promised land.

He described Barrister Asue Ighodalo as a master planner, a first-class administrator whom the CRPP believed would deliver the expected dividends of democracy to the masses of the state who have been yearning for good governance from the present lamentable situation.

He, therefore appealed to the people of the state to cast their vote for the PDP candidate.

The  CRPP chairman, also called on members in across the 18 Local Government Areas to work assiduously and support the PDP candidate to emerge victorious at the election.
