Guber Poll: Ighodalo'll rescue Edo people from socio-economics challenges -- CRPP

The leadership of the Edo State chapter of Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP), has assured that Barrister Asue Ighodalo would rescue the people of the state from the high cost of living, insecurity and lamentable situation they found themselves.

DailyMonitorngr reports that the party gave the assurance while endorsing the candidate of the PDP at an enlarged meeting of members in Benin City ahead of the September 21, 2024 governorship election.

The State chairman of CRPP, Dr Samson Isibor, while speaking after the meeting, noted that they endorsed Asue Ighodalo because they believe that he would fulfill his electioneering promises to the people of the State when elected governor.

According to him, I am glad to meet you collectively. Though many of you are already aware of the steps the state executive council of CRPP has taken with respect to the forthcoming governorship election on September 21, 2024. 

"The State Exco is happy to inform you that we are supporting Asue Ighodalo of the PDP for Governor.

"We should therefore take the message to our various wards and  local government areas to our teeming supporters. 

"The CRPP is throwing its weight behind the PDP candidate for him to win the governorship election by the Grace of God. 

"Asue Ighodalo we believe will fulfill his electioneering promises to the people of Edo State and he will not let us down. 

"He has promised to rescue the masses of Edo State from the lamentable situation we found ourselves from high cost of living, insecurity everywhere",he said.

While lamenting the high cost of living in the country, Isibor, however, posited that a lot of people in the state cannot afford three square meals a day.

He also stated that many as a result of high cost of petroleum products have parked their vehicle and generating sets.

He noted that in many communities in the state  are without electricity for over one years and more due to poor supply.

"We have gotten assurance from Asue Ighodalo that all these will be a thing of the past when elected governor the state.

Isibor who appealed to members of the party to take the message down to their various local governments, wards and units assured that they would once again "enjoy abundant life" if their candidate emerge victorious at the election.

He further urged them to campaign vigorously for the PDP candidate.

He, however, appealed to other governorship candidates to embark on issue based  campaigns devoid of calumny and mudslinging.

The CRPP chairman, urged the Independent National Electoral Commissioner (INEC) to remains an unbiased umpire and give a level playing field for all the contesting parties and  candidates.

He called on security agencies to  discharge their duties effectively and professionally  without taking sides.
