The people of Kogi Local Government Area on Sunday came out in their numbers to celebrate the Supreme Court victory of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo.

DailyMonitorgnr reports that the people also pledged support for the second term of the Governor in the 2027 gubernatorial election in the State.

The people of the locality hinged their decision to support the reelection of the governor for a second term on his leadership style, which resulted in his prompt payment of monthly salary, security architecture, and infrastructural development since his assumption of office.

While endorsing the governor for a second term, they noted that his feats in the short period in office were unprecedented.

Speaking during the celebration of the governor's Supreme Court victory in the Gegu Beki community, Engr Bashir  Gegu described the Seven months of Governor Ododo in office as fruitful and rewarding.

According to him,  despite the court processes and distractions, Kogites are happy with Governor Ododo. It is not early for the 2027 permutations.

"I know the Governor is focused on bringing dividends of democracy to Kogi citizens and that will not stop Kogi citizens from praying for his second term because he provided quality leadership", he said.

Meanwhile, over 200 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Omoko community of Chikara South Ward in the Local Government have defected to APC.

The PDP and SDP party faithful hinged their defection to APC on the leadership style of the State Governor.

The defectors who, however, described Engr. Bashir Gegu as a shining star in the local government noted that they resolved to rally behind him towards gaining more dividends of democracy for the people of the locality.

In a statement signed by Hon. Osama Omoko and made available to newsmen, they assured that Kogi local Government remains at the forefront of supporting the Governor Usman Ododo-led  APC  administration in the State and Engr. Bashiru Gegu in Kogi Local Government.

Omoko, who said the decision was to massively drum and support the APC-led administration, described Kogi Local Government and the State as an APC domain.
