AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE, SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO

By Dr Andrew Eigbedion November 22, 2024   I want to first and foremost congratulate our newly sworn-in Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo alias Akpokomiza on his ascension into office on the 12th November, 2024. The indices before all and sundry as I write this letter is that the Governor has hit the ground running. Over the past week, we have witnessed major pronouncements and appointments. First was the appointment of some key players in his Cabinet. Also was the appointment of some Commissioners and Heads of major Agencies and Parastatals. We have also witnessed a series of pronouncements about the dissolution of all Edo State owned Government Boards. The latest of such dissolutions and perhaps not the last, was the dissolution of the Governing Councils of all State-owned Tertiary Institutions including that of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (AAUE) yesterday, the 20th of November, 2024. CAFWCL: Edo Queens Beat Reigning champion to qualify for Semifinals

Pic: The victorious Edo Queens FC celebrating after defeating the reigning champion for Semifinals  By Editor November 16, 2024 The Edo Queens FC of Benin, the Nigeria representative in the ongoing CAF Women Champions  League in Casablanca, Morocco has defeated the reigning champion, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa to qualify for the Semifinal of the tournament. Dailymonitorngr reports that the Edo Queens  beat their opponent 2-1 to qualify for the semifinal. The Moses Aduku tutored Queens  will now  slug it out with TP Mazembe of Congo Democratic Republic in the semi-final on Tuesday. The Saturday's match was the Nigeria representatives last group game at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League. The Aduku's Babes staged  a dramatic comeback to defeat  the defending champion. Checkmate activities of market unions to reduce cost of foodstuffs--- CRPP charges Gov Okpebholo

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo  By Editor November 16, 2024 The Edo State chapter of the Coalition of Registered Political Parties, CRPP, has urged  Governor Monday Okpebholo to put policies in place to checkmate the activities of market unions to reduce the high cost of foodstuffs in the State. Dailymonitorngr  reports that Dr. Samson Isibor, the State chairman of CRPP gave the advised on Saturday in a statement made available to newsmen in Benin City while setting agenda for Governor Monday Okpebholo-led government. Isibor, whoever, congratulated the  Senator for winning the last September 21, 2024 governorship election and the successful swearing-in as the 5th democratically elected governor of the State encouraged him to go after market unions, to bring down the cost of commodities.
