Ohonbamu said the approval for the purchase of the vehicles was taken during the meeting presided over by  Governor Monday Okpebholo, who is also the chairman in Council on Wednesday. By Editor March 10, 2025 Eight passengers have been burnt to death in a tanker explosion in the Agbede community in Etsako West Local Government Area of the State. DailyMonitorngr reports that the accident happened on Sunday in the community by channel 5, along the Auchi- Benin expressway. Cyril Mathew, the Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the accident to newsmen on Monday in Benin City. Mathew said the accident involved four vehicles with two of them carrying diesel and other petroleum products. Mathew said the information available to him, revealed that one of the tankers descending the Ewu hill on the Benin-Auchi road had a failed brake and in the process rammed into other vehicles which ignited fire.
