Hon.Godfrey Adekoye, Senior Special Assistant on Youths Empowerment to the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ahmed Dodo has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt on his life by the whiskers.

DailyMonitorngr learned that the incident happened yesterday at Lounge 1, a popular hospitality joint in Lokoja, the State capital.

Narrating his ordeal, the aide to the Governor alleged that the attackers traced him to his house, but unfortunately, they met his absence.

Adekoye, however, alleged that the attack on his life was masterminded by the State All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth leader, Hon. Mohammed. U. Mohammed, and one Abubakar Nasara Ola.

According to him, during the attack, Abubakar threatened to kill me and pointed a gun at me before the intervention of onlookers who saved me by chance.

"The attackers destroyed and broke the windscreen of the vehicle belonging to Hamza Yabagi. The vehicle is now parked in the custody of the Quick Response Squad, an arm of the Nigerian Police, in Lokoja.

He said he had since reported the matter to the Quick Response Squad in Lokoja that his life was in danger.

Reacting, the State APC Leader, Hon. Muhammad U. Muhammad, who denied the allegations of an attack on the governor's aide, urged him to look elsewhere for his attackers.

Efforts to get reactions from the Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, SP Williams Ayah, were unsuccessful as he could not be reached on the phone at the time of going to the press.
